Today, we live in such a fast paced society and there is so much going on around us that is hard not to be stressed out. We have families, friends, taxes, rent and so many other factors we have little control over.Unhappiness, worry and anxiety can have a huge impact on our health especially as we get older. Our mood is a very powerful force that can impact our daily lives, we may not realize this, but it’s huge. Let’s make an effort to be happy and worry free. In the end, we will be happier, healthier and live longer….After worrying, what happens? Worrying doesn’t solve any of our problems, it actually makes them worse. It’s better to live within the limitations of whatever worries us and decide to be happy.
HOW DO YOU LIVE A HAPPY LIFE
1. RELAX
When you relax your mind with meditation and progressive muscle relaxation, you create the alpha wave activity in your brain. Tensions and anxiety cannot live side by side with relaxation. Either you are relaxed or tensed so when you relax, you let go of the tension, worries and anxiety. The more relaxed and focused you are, the less defensive, controlling, and fearful you will be when adverse situations occur in life. Your child missed the bus, or you missed the flight, will not cause as much anger and frustration and you will be able to take the rational problem solving approach more effectively if your mind is relaxed.
2.DO ONE THING AT A TIME
This is the simplest and best way to start reducing your stress, and you can start today. Right now. Focus as much as possible on doing one thing at a time. Clear your desk of distractions. Pick something to work on. Need to write a report? Do only that. Remove distractions such as phones and email notifications while you’re working on that report. If you’re going to do email, do only that. This takes practice, and you’ll get urges to do other things. Just keep practicing and you’ll get better at it.
3. Get moving.
Do something each day to be active — walk, hike, play a sport, go for a run, do yoga. It doesn’t have to be grueling to reduce stress. Just move. Have fun doing it.
4.Have a blast!
Have fun each day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. I like to play with my kids — they take my mind off everything and are really hilarious. I also like to play sports (again, often with my kids). Board games are fun. Sex, again, can be a fun activity. Whatever you choose, be sure to laugh.
5.BE YOURSELF
Don’t take the opinions of others to heart.
The key to living a happy and fulfilling life is being able to be authentically you and do the things that bring you joy. Often, the opinions and judgments of others get in the way of our authenticity.
“Whatever people do, feel, think, or say, don’t take it personally. If they tell you how wonderful you are, they are not saying that because of you. You know you are wonderful. It is not necessary to believe other people who tell you that you are wonderful. Don’t take anything personally.”
